Born on January 24, 1977 in Lugano, Switzerland, Michelle Yvonne Hunziker and her family moved to Italy when she was 17 years old. Once settled in, Michelle discovered that her outgoing attitude and nice, lean figure were perfect for the world of modeling.
Soon enough, young Michelle had won several contracts that put her in the public eye, including TV ad campaigns and billboard advertisements. It was her booty that caught the eye of many magazine and newspaper photographers, and this positive butt-press made the rookie model a popular personality within Italy.
In 1998, having already achieved success as a lingerie and bikini model, Michelle made the move to television. She debuted in the role of Tiziana in an Italian miniseries entitled La Forza dell'amore. One year later, Michelle began her film career in Voglio stare sotto al letto, as one of a handful of main characters.
It was around this time that Michelle met and fell in love with Italian singer Eros Ramazzoti. They married in April of 1998 and had a daughter together, named Aurora. Just as the model was starting a family, she began working in Germany, where she pleased audiences as host of the TV series Erstes Glck.
The beautiful model recovered from childbirth in amazing fashion, impressing male devotees with her sexy look in the English films The Protagonists and Ancient Warriors. Though neither movie was critically acclaimed -- not by any stretch of the imagination -- they still provided Michelle with an opportunity to showcase her acting versatility and grasp of several languages.
Already one of Italy's most popular celebrities, Michelle became even more in demand after having a go at hosting the country's popular Zelig TV program. She then showed just how smoking a mom she was by posing in European editions of Maxim, GQ and Max magazines.
With her hosting talents well established, Michelle was hired as emcee of Germany's version of American Idol and was then cast as the presenter for World Idol in 2003. Michelle has since returned to the modeling circuit by posing in several magazines, but is still keeping her eye out for that next big movie role. She is currently single, having filed for divorce from Ramazzoti in 2005.
